Apr 19, 2011   //   by admin   //   Blog, Mobile, Social Media  //  No Comments

“Britney Spears – Who’s the biggest fan?” first promotion built on platform

Britney Spears campaign in Flowd

Helsinki, Finland April 18th 2011 – Flowd, the music lovers’ social network, announced today that its eagerly anticipated Frequent Fans program for artists has gone live. Frequent Fans is a turnkey promotions program that allows the music industry to create fun promotions and mobile coupons based on a variety of promotion triggers and business rules. The program is now available for all signed artists and their partners across the world.

Music acts can now easily build campaigns that will engage their fans across social media. The program hosts a variety of business rules that go above and beyond traditional artist promotions. With Flowd’s location based features, artists can reward fans for attending their gigs, for example. Additional promotion triggers include artist following, wall posts and image shouts, with a variety of promotion types tied to the triggers. This enables very precise targeting for both local and global fan promotions and makes Flowd the first social media application to provide robust loyalty program tools for the music industry.

“Bringing mobile and location based campaign tools to Flowd business architecture is a great step for us. The campaign features and the variety of business rules bring huge value to artists and the music industry.” explains Tommi Laitinen, SVP, Flowd, and continues “Mobile social marketing has more opportunities than anyone can imagine today. That’s why we have implemented Flowd’s Frequent Fan program through a set of API’s to provide easy to use, self-service campaign tools for artists or their management. At the same time we can continue to innovate and add new business rules and campaign types on our side.”

In collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment, “Britney Spears – Who’s the biggest fan?” is the first campaign implemented on Flowd’s Frequent Fans. This EU-only promotion offers the first 1,000 fans that take part a free copy of the new single “Till the world ends” through a mobile coupon and one lucky winner the title as Britney’s #1 fan. The campaign includes user activity based triggers, combined with unique campaign codes. This is one example of the type of social media campaigns that Flowd’s Frequent Fans enables. Wouter Jansen, Brand Manager, Sony Music Entertainment said “We are eager to test the boundaries of using Flowd for marketing and are excited to launch the “Britney Spears – Who’s the biggest fan?” promotion. We are continuously looking for new innovations to improve fan loyalty and also reward the most loyal fans. Flowd looks interesting in that respect. And we are also of course really thrilled to find out who the biggest fan of Britney in Europe is and what kind of creative responses we get from the fan-base!”

ARMADA MUSIC, ALDA EVENTS AND FLOWD TEAM UP TO PROVIDE PARTY GOERS WITH AN ENHANCED SOCIAL EXPERIENCE

A State of Trance 500’s DJs and Attendees to Share News and Pictures via Flowd during Tour

Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Helsinki, Finland – 24 February 2011 – Leading dance music label Armada Music, event organiser ALDA Events, and Flowd, the social network for music lovers, announce an exclusive partnership for the highly popular A State of Trance 500 (ASOT 500) world tour this Spring. With over 100,000 people set to attend ASOT 500 concerts, and millions more listening to the live radio and online broadcasts, this partnership cements Flowd’s status as the preferred campaign tool and channel for music acts to keep in touch with their fans.

As the mobile social networking partner for ASOT 500, Flowd will collate all the official pictures from the events. Concert-goers attending any of the five worldwide ASOT 500 shows will be able to instantly upload their photos via Flowd to the ASOT 500 event wall as well as the official A State of Trance website along with their comments. This takes concert-going to a new level, and will keep the experience alive long after the events have ended.

Maykel Piron, Managing Director, Armada Music, explained: “Flowd provides the perfect campaign toolset for us to take the 500th episode celebration of A State of Trance further. We wanted the parties to come alive on the website and with Flowd party-goers can now share their experience with each other and the world.”

Allan Harderberg, Managing Director, ALDA Events, continued: “With over 100,000 people set to attend, we’re putting together the biggest trance events to celebrate the milestone of 500 A State of Trance episodes. But we’re not just satisfied with that. By working with Flowd, we’re bringing ASOT 500 to every trance fan across the world, whether they’re at home, online or at one of our parties.”

“Flowd offers totally new social features which will lead to greater interaction between fans, music acts, venues and events,” added Tommi Laitinen, SVP, Flowd. “As ASOT500 is a fantastic combination of all of those, Flowd is the perfect tool to bring their fans’ experiences to the next level. Together, Flowd and ASOT500 are taking event participation and ‘fandom’ to a very new, social adventure. This is what social marketing campaigns in the music space in 2011 and beyond should be all about.”

Flowd’s partnership with ASOT 500 will officially be launched by DJ Armin van Buuren during his A State of Trance radio show on Thursday 3rd March. Flowd and Armin van Buuren are also working on a secret project that will reward their most loyal fans, so everyone is encouraged to tune into the 3rd March show for more details!

HOW DOES IT WORK: Using Flowd, attendees will be able to immediately share their pictures and reactions during the concerts from their mobile devices. Simply by snapping a photo and sharing through Flowd, the picture will be automatically uploaded to the ASOT 500 site and shared to every visitor with the user’s instant reaction. Artists will also be taking their own behind-the-scenes photos and sharing them via Flowd and on the ASOT 500 site. Once photos have been uploaded to the site, they will form a timeline of the tour which will allow everyone to experience the events, even if they couldn’t make it there in person, and allow attendees to relive their favourite moments again and again.
