Mixing the FAST power of Social & Mobile Media
Mixing Music, Mobile and Social for Lee Harris
During the past couple of months we’ve been helping Musician Lee Harris to harness the combined power of Twitter, Facebook, and Flowd by launching a REMIX Contest for Lee’s newly released single FAST.
How we did it…
We tapped into our music network to assemble a panel of esteemed DJs and music experts to collectively pick a winning remix. We then promoted the Remix contest using only social and mobile communication channels. We worked with influential bloggers and music communities to spread the word and they reacted FAST.
The contest caught the imagination of Remixers from all over the world who submitted their entries up onto SoundCloud.
The Results
The contest ran from Jan 5th to February 15th and during that time we received a great selection of 105 Remixes! The winning remix is available to listen to below.
The winning remix (by Danny Stubbs) will be released as a featured single on Lee’s FAST EP in April/May 2012.
Thank you to all those taking part and helping us to move Lee’s music into a new dimension.

A little thank you and a new logo…
This week we’ve mostly been thanking people and creating, so good vibes all round. We sent out a small gift by email using Mailchimp, which seems to have been very well received. We offered a few free *Sparketing* sessions, which were snapped up. However, there were plenty of people who missed out, so we’ve offered them a special deal too.
We will share the results of our email A/B test too once we get the full details – as it makes interesting reading.
And finally, we’ve just received our new logo for the Spirits of Ibiza brand and very nice it is too. We worked with Paul Mansell over at www.pmgraphics.co.uk and he’s done a great job. As if he wasn’t busy enough designing logos and preparing the launch plans for MarlowFM’s upcoming launch on FM . It’s all volunteers who run the shows, so please feel free to help them out with your time or even better, your money.
This logo is definitely getting us ready for the sunshine – we had some yesterday and now we want more…

Wow, what a week Nokia, Microsoft, Ministry of Sound, Markus Schulz & SoundCloud
It’s been a massive 7 days in my little world and it’s just been trumped by today’s HUGE news from Nokia.
Let’s deal with the big boys stuff first… Nokia is stopping development of in-house operating systems and will be using Micosoft Windows as the basis for future phones. Alongside this Nokia’s Ovi will be merged into Microsoft’s marketplace. This is a massive statement by Nokia about future intent but it also represents a big turning point in mobile, as the web boys of Google & Microsoft have made their mark in mobile. Apart from Apple, who are now ‘a mobile device company’ – quote Steve Jobs, the web boys will have their operating systems in most of the phones of our future.
At last convergence, which is a great thing for all of us as consumers, as we will start to see even better consumer experiences through out phones.

Now back to my little world of mobile….
Well it all started last Friday with those lovely people at Ministry of Sound . Myself and Mark Harris were kindly given Access All Areas by Gary Smart and Michael Yardy at MoS to see one of our Flowd DJ’s Markus Schulz perform on his birthday. He’s a really nice approachable guy and he helped us give out Flowd.com t-shirts to the happy clubbing crowd – you can see pics & videos of him in action here
On Wednesday night we went to SoundCloud to talk Flowd with artists, DJ’s, artist mgrs and social media agencies, at the feet of Tim Exile who performed live.
Thanks to David Adams and the rest of the SoundCloud team for hosting the first of no doubt many London meetups.
time for a rest this weekend methinks, to recharge me and the mobile!
BUT If you feel like clubbin – see if this helps set you up for the weekend…
